Very important for BB - Number 2 after Russia. Bill payment at agents has reached almost every municipality as of end 2010.

Banking correspondent(BC) permitted with broad scope of acitivities: account opening, deposit, withdrawal. Large networks by Caixa and Bradesco Banks. More than 95000 in 2006. Nearly any retailer handling cash can act as BC.

No integrated national id system. Many do not have official Id. Only nationwide doc is the taxpayer number commonly required for opening an account.

MNOs not covered by AML/CFT law but FIU elieves that as they start to participate they should be required to report suspicious txns to CBB.
