Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (BBVA) is a multinational Spanish banking group. It was formed in 1999 from the merger of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya and Argentaria, both of which in turn had previously amalgamated three important banks in Spain.
